5/23/2023 0 Comments A Fortunate Blizzard by L.C. ChaseHopefully after the craziness of the next couple days I can relax over the weekend and catch up on my reading. Between family visits and a migraine that’s been plaguing me, I’ve had little time and almost no desire to start something new. Holly: I haven’t read a single book all week. Probably Lord Dashwood Missed Out by Tessa Dare because I’m still in a historical mood. Which leaves me to now, I have no idea what I’m going to read next. It had everything that I loved from the first three books in the Dressmakers series and the humor that I adored from Lords of Scoundrels. Last night, I started and finished Dukes Prefer Blondes by Loretta Chase and holy cow, I loved it. So after I finished that book, I did another re-read of The Deal, I can’t stop myself from reading that book. I found myself being frustrated with everything and everyone for a good chunk of the book and the first thing that popped into my head when I finished it was, “Maybe I’m getting too old for this shit” so I’ll probably be cooling it on YA’s for the time being. I think I may be growing out of my YA phase because this book was good but it read a little too young for me. This week, I read Did I Mention I Love You? by Estelle Maskame, which was okay. Chase here today on her tour for A Fortunate Blizzard. Chase Buy it Here at Riptide Publishing Scattered Thoughts and Rogue Words is happy to have L. 5/22/2023 0 Comments My brilliant life novelI love that often in Korean novels (and drama) how there is so much between the line reading in addition to the text. An avid reader due to lack of other things to do, he has developed a vast area of knowledge that isn’t very deep but that in combination with his own personality develops a rather enchanting form of wisdom.Īreum’s parents were very young when they had him and so there is the overhanging question throughout the book about their experience and ability to be a parent. Now, he is nearing the end of his life in a body that has shrunk and aged, physically at an age of over 80. Areum at the age of 16 has been suffering from an ageing disease since he was two years old. He set off in search of the smallest possible bolt that had the necessary high-tensile strength and a reasonable breakaway torque. That’s like working on your car while wearing an inflatable sumo wrestler suit and boxing gloves, with the added twist that your tools float away if you let go of them.ĭesigner Henry Ford (no relation to the automotive family) decided to tackle the first of these by limiting the variety of fasteners used on the telescope. What makes Hubble radically different from anything built before or since is that it was designed to be maintainable by two people in bulky space suits while orbiting hundreds of miles above the Earth. Hubble is an amazing piece of engineering. By delightful coincidence, the two of us began the final stretch of our journeys to space at almost the same time, with my astronaut selection and Hubble’s congressional approval both occurring in 1978. As I grew through my childhood and teen years, Hubble languished in a state of arrested development, while the technologies of the new space age matured enough to bring Spitzer’s vision into the realm of the possible. I was born in Paterson, New Jersey, on October 3, 1951. Most people trace Hubble’s start to a report written in 1946 by Princeton astronomer Lyman Spitzer. You could say we grew up together, Hubble and I. 5/22/2023 0 Comments Dear zoo little libraryDelivery with Standard Australia Post usually happens within 2-10 business days from time of dispatch. You can track your delivery by going to AusPost tracking and entering your tracking number - your Order Shipped email will contain this information for each parcel. That scientific gentleman with the bald, egg-like head and the bare, bird-like neck had no real right to the airs of science that he assumed. That old gentleman with the wild, white beard and the wild, white hat - that venerable humbug was not really a philosopher but at least he was the cause of philosophy in others. That young man with the long, auburn hair and the impudent face - that young man was not really a poet but surely he was a poem. Even if the people were not "artists," the whole was nevertheless artistic. The place was not only pleasant, but perfect, if once he could regard it not as a deception but rather as a dream. Nor when he met the people was he disappointed in this respect. The stranger who looked for the first time at the quaint red houses could only think how very oddly shaped the people must be who could fit in to them. But although its pretensions to be an intellectual centre were a little vague, its pretensions to be a pleasant place were quite indisputable. It was described with some justice as an artistic colony, though it never in any definable way produced any art. It had been the outburst of a speculative builder, faintly tinged with art, who called its architecture sometimes Elizabethan and sometimes Queen Anne, apparently under the impression that the two sovereigns were identical. It was built of a bright brick throughout its sky-line was fantastic, and even its ground plan was wild. “The suburb of Saffron Park lay on the sunset side of London, as red and ragged as a cloud of sunset. 5/22/2023 0 Comments A Scandalous Destiny by Ava StoneHow unfortunate that her heart still beats for him even after all these years, especially considering the way he left her and never looked back.
